Bowers & Wilkins announces the launch of the T7, the company’s first wireless Bluetooth speaker.
Bowers & Wilkins has finally launched a wireless Bluetooth speaker, and it carries the signature Bowers & Wilkins sound in a lightweight, portable body that's powered by a rechargeable lithium ion battery that's good for up to 18 hours of playback.
The T7 is Bowers & WIlkins' first Bluetooth speaker, and it appears Bowers & Wilkins are determined to start with a bang, bringing design concepts from the Matrix internal bracing design used in their reference 800 Series Diamond loudspeakers (found in the legendary Abbey Road studios) to the T7 by way of a Micro Matrix honeycomb structure, which provides substantial cabinet stiffening and a solid platform for the T7’s powerful driver units.
With two 50mm full-range drivers and two auxiliary bass radiators, the T7 comfortably covers the a wide range of frequencies. Much attention has been paid to the mounting of the 50mm drive units, as each driver is set in a ridged steel basket that allows ample air flow while keep the driver movement tight and controlled. At the same time, the bass radiators benefit from Bowers & Wilkins engineering expertise, being force-cancelling high-output radiators that extend the lower frequencies to increase range, depth, and richness.

In keeping with a minimalistic design, the speaker keeps buttons to a minimum, while an array of lights and audio cues (developed in collaboration with international composer and artist Mira Calix) help to convey their functions quickly and intuitively.
Meanwhile, the use of aptX Bluetooth technology ensures optimal transmission of your audio feeds, while the T7’s internal rechargeable lithium ion battery will keep the music going for a good 18 hours. As Bowers & Wilkins puts it, the T7 offers genuine Hi-Fi sound; no strings attached.
