Audio Technica debuts ATH-ANC700BT with new noise-cancelling technology at CES 2018

The headphones feature Audio Technica’s newly developed ANC technology for even better noise-cancelling performance.

Audio Technica’s latest ATH-ANC700BT QuietPoint headphones are a set of wireless over-ear headphones that add touch and swipe controls to the ear cup. Tap the ear cup to answer calls, play/pause music, and increase and decrease volume. Swiping across the ear cup lets you skip to the next or go back to the previous music track, so you won’t need to dig for your player while on the go.

What’s new though, is that the noise-cancelling functionality is driven by a four-microphone (two in each ear cup) multi-feedback system that greatly reduces environmental noise. According to Audio Technica, these have been mounted in new locations so that they don’t unintentionally pick up some of the generated noise-cancelling signal, leading to improved noise-cancelling performance.

The headphones feature 40 mm drivers that allow a frequency range of 5-40,000Hz when used with the included 1.2m standard audio cable. Memory-foam ear pads provide for extra comfort and passive noise isolation, and the headphones have a compact, foldable design so you can easily bring them around with you.

Thanks to the internal lithium polymer rechargeable battery, the ATH-ANC700BT will give you about 25 hours of continuous Bluetooth and ANC use (1,000 hours on standby) on a full charge; plenty for even the longest flight. The headphones also come with a 30 cm USB charging cable and a soft carrying case to complete the package.

The ATH-ANC700BT will be available in the US by March 2018 for US$199.00 in a choice of black or gray.
