Analyst expects AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro 2 to launch next year

The AirPods lineup will not see a new release this year according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared his predictions on the AirPods lineup in his latest investor note.

Kuo expects the AirPods 3 to enter mass production in the first half of 2021. The design of the new AirPods is likely to remain the same. For the AirPods Pro, the second generation model is said to enter mass production in late 2021 or early 2022.

Contrary to tipster Jon Prosser's claims that AirPods Pro "Lite" will be coming next month, Kuo disagrees and says it is likely to be a new Beats model than new AirPods model.

Similar to Bloomberg's report, Kuo believes Apple's premium over-ear headphones will enter mass production sometime in June. It is expected to launch sometime in late summer or early fall.
