Samsung’s new Galaxy Buds3 FE offers Galaxy AI in your ears at a lower price

Features are pared down from the Pro. But for the price, we cannot complain.

We were quite impressed by the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro when they released last year, but it’s definitely a pricey pair of true wireless earbuds at S$358.

Now, the South Korean tech giant has announced the Galaxy Buds3 FE alongside the Galaxy S25 FE, pricing it more affordably at S$168.

With a very similar look to the Buds3 Pro, the Buds3 FE gets some trickledown features as well, such as the swipe and pinch control system, and Galaxy AI with Gemini Voice Wakeup so you can control the earbuds with just voice commands. Other useful AI features like Live Translate and Listening Mode are also available.

The earbuds come with an IP54 dust and water resistance, and Samsung promises that the ANC performance of the Buds3 FE is equivalent to that of the Buds3 Pro’s. The earbuds are supposed to last up to six hours with ANC turned on, for a total of up to 24 hours when including the charging case.

Unlike the Buds3 Pro’s dual-driver design, the Buds3 FE comes with a single 11mm dynamic driver to keep costs low. However, these earbuds support the Samsung Seamless Codec (SSC) which should offer better audio quality compared to the usual SBC and AAC codecs. There’s also an equaliser feature in the companion app to adjust the sound to one’s liking.

The microphones on these earbuds are also supposed to offer enhanced call clarity compared to the Buds FE due to the adjusted microphone position as well as an advanced pre-trained machine learning model to isolate the wearer’s voice.
