The AKG N90Q come in a gold hard case box for protection. The large "Q" printed on it stands for Quincy Jones, the 27-time Grammy award-winning record producer who worked extensively with AKG in the production of these special headphones.
The price? A cool US$1,499.95.
The N90Q are large full-sized over-ear headphones that completely cover your ears. Note the control rings surrounding the faceplate of each headphone. The ring on the right ear cup controls volume, while the one on the left cup switches the sound stage between one of three presets: Standard, Studio or Surround.
If you're wondering about the USB cable in the middle of the photo, it comes from the carrying case itself, as the case doubles as a charger for your headphones. There's a USB port at the back that you can plug to a power source, so your headphones stay protected while they get charged.
All the cables you might possibly want. You get a 1.5m USB charging cable, a 3m audio cable, a 1.2m cable with three button in-line remote for MFi devices, and a 1.2m cable with three-button in-line remote for Android devices, and of course accessories like the airline jack and the 1/4-inch to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter. They all fit nicely away in the box.
Yes, these headphones come with a limited edition power bank that you can use to keep the music going if no other power sources are in sight.
Plush dual density memory foam ear cups completely envelop your ears once the headphones are on, adding a layer of passive noise cancellation to the active noise cancellation (ANC) present in the headset. AKG says this is the world's first audiophile-grade, fully discrete analog ANC circuitry that delivers noise reduction with error and distortion reduction.
Hold down the gold button on the right ear cup to initiate the N90Q's auto-calibration. This uses two microphones in each ear cup to generate a frequency response which the N90Q uses to adjust the sound according to the sound pressure distribution in your ear. Once done, all the sound waves enter directly into your ear, minimizing distortion and delivering truly accurate sound.
