Creative has just launched the latest addition to its Aurvana series, the Aurvana Ace 3. Succeeding the Aurvana Ace 2, the new model sports a blue translucent casing and improved internals across the board.

New to the Aurvana Ace 3 is “Mimi Sound personalisation”, a system developed in collaboration with Mimi Hearing Technologies. As the name suggests, users can take a quick hearing test in the Creative mobile app to generate a tailored hearing profile. Playback is then adjusted in real time to match the listener’s unique hearing capabilities.

We’ve seen this feature previously in the Aurvana Ace Mimi (read our review here), and we found that with the feature turned on, audio feels a little more spacious with vocals sounding richer and more intimate.

The Aurvana Ace 3 is also SXFI ready.

Complementing this feature is Creative’s dual driver system, which pairs xMEMS solid-state drivers with custom-tuned 10mm dynamic drivers. Creative says that this pairing should result in a balanced sound signature that delivers good bass alongside crisp highs and fine details.

Happily, the Aurvana Ace 3 supports not just the basic AAC and SBC codecs, but also AptX Adaptive, AptX Lossless, and LDAC. Connectivity is handled via Bluetooth 5.4, and the earbuds also support Auracast. Sound aside, each earbud weighs just 4.7g and features touch-sensitive controls on the stem for managing playback, adjusting volume, and activating voice assistants with simple taps.

Like other flagship earbuds, the Aurvana Ace 3 includes Hybrid Adaptive Noise Cancellation, which constantly adjusts the level of noise cancellation based on your surroundings, as well as an ambient mode for situational awareness. There is also a wear detection feature that automatically pauses playback when the earbuds are removed and resumes it upon reinsertion.

The general shape of the earbuds appears to be largely the same.

Battery life is rated at up to seven hours per charge, with a total of 26 hours when used with the charging case. Charging is available via USB-C, and the case also supports wireless charging.

Rounding off the package, the earbuds have an IPX5 water resistance rating and come with five sizes of silicone ear tips, ranging from extra small to extra large, for a better fit across different users. For calls, three microphones on each earbud help ensure clear communication.

Availability and pricing

If you’re interested in getting the Aurvana Ace 3 for yourself, the wireless earbuds are available for purchase from Creative’s storefronts on Shopee, Lazada, and the official Creative webstore for S$219.

However, if all you’re looking for is to try out the Mimi Sound Personalisation function and don’t care much about additional audio codec support, you can save a few bucks by opting for the Creative Aurvana Ace Mimi, priced at S$189.
