AirPods users may finally get Live Translation next month, a feature Android users have been enjoying since 2017.

Spotted in the latest iOS 26 beta, an image (as above) showing Live Translation on the AirPods suggests the feature could be activated with a double press on the stem. The image also shows translations in English, French, German and Portuguese.

Bloomberg previously reported that the Live Translation feature for AirPods will require a paired iPhone to work. The feature will roll out to both current and upcoming AirPods models as part of the iOS 26 update.

When Apple previewed iOS 26 at WWDC 2025, it shared that Live Translation would be available in Messages, FaceTime, and phone calls.

Apple is expected to hold an event in the second week of September to unveil the iPhone 17, with iOS 26 shipping shortly after.
