Zoom is rolling out a new video background feature, Immersive View.
Immersive View, which was announced at Zoomtopia 2020, enables up to 25 participants of an online meeting to be arranged in a single virtual background/scene. The background/scene can be in a classroom, a boardroom, an auditorium, or even your favourite place!
A host of the online meeting has the option to automatically or manually place participants into a virtual scene of his/her choosing. Participants can also be moved around and their images resized for a more natural experience. If there are more than 25 participants in the meeting, Immersive View will show the additional participants in a thumbnail strip on the top of the scene.
Immersive View is not available in Breakout Rooms and recording is not yet supported. When a host shares his/her screen, Immersive View will end and be replaced by the shared screen.
The new video background feature is enabled by default for all free and single Pro accounts using Zoom 5.6.3 or higher on Windows and MacOS.
