8 months after launching support for 360-degree videos on the News Feed, Facebook announced that 360-degree photos will also be supported soon.

Available in the coming weeks, Facebook users can use consumer devices such as the Samsung Gear 360 and LG 360 Cam to capture and upload 360-degree photos on the News Feed. Similar to how you view 360-degree videos, you either tilt your phone around  to view the photo at different angles or drag it around with your finger or cursor (for desktop).

Facebook will also add a new photos section to the Oculus app for users to get the full immersive experience on their Gear VR devices.
