At the Build developer conference today, Microsoft has announced Windows Story Remix, a new creative app that will ship with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update later this year.
Windows Story Remix is built on .NET and distributed through the Windows Store as a universal Windows app. It connects to the Microsoft Graph and touts the use of AI and deep learning to transform your photos and videos.
For example, Windows Story Remix is able to automatically pull and organize your memories, including your friends’ photos and videos, to create stories with a soundtrack, theme, and cinematic transitions with just a click of the Remix button. It'll also automatically tag your content, which means you can search by people, places, or things to easily find specific photos in your library.
You can also draw directly on the photos and videos with Windows Ink, or even create mixed reality by adding 3D objects to your photos and videos (contributions can come from iOS and Android, too) and share your creations online on social media channels and with the Remix 3D community. Hooking up with the community is a smart move, as it can be a treasure trove for stuff like special effects that you can find and use in your videos.
