Close to a year after WhatsApp was reportedly working on an "edit" feature, it is said to be finally testing the feature on Android.
WABetaInfo says the feature has been released to some beta users on Android. Based on the screenshot below, the edit option can be found within the Message options. Edited messages will be labelled within the chat bubble to inform users.

While there is no limit on the number of edits you can make, the edit needs to be done within 15 minutes of sending the message. WABetaInfo claims the 15-minute duration provides sufficient time for users to correct typos and a longer period might "compromise the integrity of the conversation".
