Meta just announced the integration of WhatsApp into the Accounts Center to better manage people's connected experiences across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

A new option will be available soon for WhatsApp users to add the service to Accounts Center. This will enable users to reshare updates from WhatsApp Status to Facebook or Instagram Stories without having to access the individual app and post the same content multiple times.

If you are not sharing your life updates on these platforms, the integration has another benefit; it allows you to log back into your WhatsApp account with a single sign-on, hence cutting down the number of steps to get back into your accounts.

Meta emphasises that the option to add WhatsApp to Accounts Centre is "completely optional and off by default". This option will be rolled out globally over the next few months.
