WhatsApp now allows users to create groups without names

While there are some limitations, you no longer need to think of a topic before starting a group chat.

In a Facebook post, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced an update to WhatsApp that will allow users to create groups on the instant messaging app without needing to name them first.

This means that users can now create groups without needing to think of a topic if they need to create a group quickly.

That’s not to say there won’t be a group name appearing. But it’ll be different for each member and depends on how they save their contacts on their phone.

However, online reports say that the feature will be limited to six other participants. This is far short of named groups that can support up to 1,024 participants.

WhatsApp has been making a series of upgrades to the app such as the sending of HD pictures, channels, and editing messages after they’re sent.
