If you’re a Singaporean user of Google Podcast, spare a thought for your US-based brethren who have until July 2024 to migrate their show subscriptions to YouTube Music.

Local users have more time to enjoy using the app until Google runs its kill switch to our region. As the company said in a help document:

Listeners in the United States will be able to use Google Podcasts through March 2024 and will be able to migrate their subscriptions through July 2024. For everyone else – we’ll keep this thread updated when we roll out the migration process to new regions, so keep your eyes peeled!

For local users, Google has made it fairly simple to migrate your subscriptions out of Google Podcast, if you want to get a head start on it.

There is a one-button transfer with an ‘Export to YouTube Music’ in YouTube Music. If you want to transfer your subscriptions to a third-party app, you can export them via an OPML file. Unfortunately, the link provided by Google doesn’t work, so we’ve provided a link to one that does provide the correct steps needed.
