Singer Taylor Swift has 50.1 million followers on her Instagram account, making her the most popular personality on the social networking site.
Instagram celebrated its fifth birthday on Thursday and released a list of the top five most-followed accounts.
According to Instagram, singer Taylor Swift currently has the most followers at 50.1 million. She joked that "this is just because I have cute cats though". In second position is Kim Kardashian with 48.5 million followers while Beyoncé has 47.5 million followers. Rounding up the top five are Selena Gomez (46.3 million followers) and Ariana Grande (45 million followers).
It's not exactly a surprise to see Swift at the the top considering her influence in the music and tech industry. She pulled out her albums from Spotify a year ago and forced Apple to pay artists during Apple Music's free 3-month trial. Swift also decided to stream her top-selling album "1989" on Apple Music.
