Almost two weeks after the debut of TikTok Music in Indonesia and Brazil, the subscription-based music streaming service is now available in Australia, Mexico, and Singapore.
Select users from the three countries are invited to join a closed beta test where they get to enjoy a three-month trial of TikTok Music. A TikTok Music subscription is priced at S$9.90/month, and is offered at a discount for university students at S$4.98/month and family plans of up to 6 accounts at $16.98/month.
“TikTok Music is a new kind of music service that combines the power of music discovery on TikTok with a music streaming service offering millions of tracks from thousands of artists."
TikTok Music is a separate app on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. It can be linked to your TikTok account, which allows you to listen, share and download music through the social media platform.
What kind of music options can you expect? For one, Warner Music Group recently announced a wide-ranging deal that will benefit its artists and TikTok users worldwide as it licenses the collection of Warner Recorded Music and Warner Chappell Music to TikTok, TikTok Music, CapCut, and TikTok’s Commercial Music Library. That's a phenomenal list of artists you can expect, such as music from Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and more.
TikTok users also can import their music library, download songs for offline playback, do collaborative playlists, see lyrics in real-time, and search for songs via their lyrics.
If and when TikTok Music is available for the general public, it could compete with rival services such as Spotify and Apple Music.
