To help combat cybercrime, StarHub and the Singapore Police Force (SPF) have joined forces to launch a public education campaign promoting vigilance against cyber threats. The campaign comprises of a series of “Scam Masterclass” videos, each themed around common scams like Impersonation scams, Job scams, and Authority scams.

Each video will teach viewers how to recognise the tell-tale signs of a scam and equip them with the knowledge and practical tools to outsmart scammers. For example, in the episode around Impersonation scams, the viewer will be taught to recognise the types of files that can corrupt their mobile device, learn to recognise the writing patterns used to scam loved ones, and how scammers use a sense of urgency to reel in victims.

Hoo Chuan-Wei, Chief Information Security Officer at StarHub, said:

Through this campaign, we hope to play our part in cultivating a more vigilant and resilient digital community.

From today, the video Masterclasses will be rolled out across multiple platforms, including StarHub’s official website, retail stores, and the YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook channels of both StarHub and SPF. The videos will also be aired on StarHub TV channels such as Hub E City, Hub Sports and AXN.
