Razer today announced a partnership with Visa that will bring the scale and reach of Visa's network to Razer Pay customers. Razer Fintech, the company's financial technology arm, will develop a virtual Visa prepaid solution that will be integrated into the Razer Pay e-wallet. This will allow Razer Pay users to make payments anywhere Visa is accepted, which includes up to 54 million merchant locations across the globe.

The Visa integration will be an exclusive Razer-branded prepaid payment solution built into Razer Pay via a mini app. It will offer users the same top-up and cash-out methods available on Razer Pay, complementing existing solutions like the ride-hailing, movie ticketing, and utility payment mini apps. Users also stand to enjoy certain benefits and rewards when using their prepaid cards for e-commerce transactions or overseas purchases.

Elsewhere, Razer also sees this as an opportunity to extend micro-financial services to Southeast Asia, which includes a large unbanked and underserved population of over 438 million. The Visa partnership looks to provide innovative financial tools to the sizeable population of youths and millenials in the region, enabling them to take part in the global cashless economy.

The integrated Visa solution is expected to roll out progressively in select SEA countries in the coming months before expanding globally.
