Netflix is testing its password sharing plan in more countries.

Bloomberg reports that Netflix is testing the plan in Argentina, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and the Dominican Republic. Previously, the password sharing plan was rolled out for users in Chile, Costa Rica and Peru.

The password sharing plan requires users to pay an additional US$2.99 if they want to share their account with people outside of their immediate household. While Netflix allows users to access their accounts while travelling, it will send an in-app prompt if the system detects an account login in a location that is not the paying household for over two weeks.

The password sharing crackdown intensifies after Netflix announced it lost subscribers for the first time in over a decade. The company estimates that as many as 100 million households are logging on with shared accounts. It is also offering a new ad-supported tier to get more subscribers.
