Project Spartan, the successor to Internet Explorer, finally has a name, and it's Microsoft Edge.
To recap, the new browser will be shipping alongside Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 10. It will only support EdgeHTML, which is optimized for modern websites and standards, while IE will only support MSHTML for sites that still need it.
In addition to the new rendering engine, Microsoft Edge has a note-taking mode whereby the webpage is frozen to let you comment or draw on it directly. You can save segments of it to OneNote or share and save the whole page.
Other features in Edge include a Reading Mode for distraction-free reading, a Reading List that supports offline reading and which syncs across devices, and Cortana intelligent personal assistant integration.
