Unlike the iOS version, the macOS Copilot app is free to use. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a while for it to be available here.

Two X (formerly known as Twitter) posts was all it took for Microsoft to announce that it had launched a Copilot app for macOS devices.
First, Yusuf Mehdi, EVP and Consumer CMO at Microsoft, said in his post:
With Copilot now available as a dedicated MacOS app, getting AI-powered help is as easy as “option+space”. Best of all, it's free to use right now. The Copilot app for iOS devices has a free version following which it costs S$29 to upgrade to the Pro version.
A second post from the official Microsoft Copilot X account said that the wait was over and provided a link to the Canadian App Store where Copilot for Mac could be downloaded. Microsoft is launching the new app in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada in the first wave of its release. Unfortunately, there is no word yet on when it will be rolled out to other App Stores.
It also added a caveat in that it requires macOS 14.0 or later and a Mac with an Apple M1 chip or later to run. This is similar to running Apple Intelligence on a Mac in that Apple says it requires “macOS 15.1 or later on Mac models with M1 or later”.
