Google has announced that Duo group calling over the latest version of Chrome now supports up to 32 people. The last update came just this Mar when the company increased the capacity from the original 8 to 12.
According to Google’s communications suite lead Sanaz Ahari Lemelson, PWA for Duo is also supported and the web version is using the new WebRTC API (Insertable Streams) to achieve end-to-end encryption.
To begin using Google Duo on the web, simply head over here, sign in with your Google account and hit the ‘Create group link’ button.
To be clear, 32-person group calls are for Duo for web. Google Duo on Android is still limited to 12 people.
