Last week, Microsoft shared that it’ll kick off a Windows 10 ad campaign in the U.S. on July 20 and the rest of the world on July 29. Well, July 20 has arrived, and we’re treated to five ads (one main one and four shorter spots), all of them involving children.

Microsoft:

The campaign tells the Windows 10 story through the lens of the newest generation, inviting people to join a new era with us.

To bring the campaign to life, we see young children from around the world in their natural settings in Morocco, Thailand, Iceland, England and the U.S. Supporting our mission of empowering every person and organization to achieve more, the ads show how technology should be more natural, human and intuitive, and adapt to people’s needs. The key notion – Windows 10 delivers a more human way to do.

After watching these ads, we can’t help but feel that Microsoft really wants to start afresh with Windows 10. With Android and iOS/OS X getting most of the attention these days, perhaps targeting the future generation is the way to go. Hopefully in time to come, these children will grow up remembering only the good stuff like Microsoft Edge, Cortana, Office, OneDrive, and Windows Hello, and not Windows XP, Internet Explorer (6!), and all the security issues that plagued their parents.
