OpenAI announced that the ChatGPT desktop app for macOS is now available for all users.
The ChatGPT app for macOS was previously available for ChatGPT Plus subscribers. Now, users are not required to sign up for a subscription plan to use ChatGPT on the Mac.
With the ChatGPT app on macOS, users can chat about email, screenshots, files and, anything else on the screen. Mac users can get faster access to ChatGPT from any screen via the shortcut "Option + Space".
Some examples of ChatGPT's functions on the Mac include:
- Taking a screenshot of your code and asking ChatGPT how to improve its performance
- Uploading documents such as class schedules and asking ChatGPT to list the assignment deadlines by week
- Seeking feedback on the introduction of your paper with no proposed edits
- Uploading an image of a hand-written ingredient list and asking ChatGPT to list them out
Mac users can download the ChatGPT app from OpenAI's website.
