Apple is reportedly looking for a senior engineer to build an Apple TV app for Android.
A native Apple TV app for Android might be in the pipeline according to a report by Bloomberg.
The iPhone maker is reportedly looking to recruit a senior engineer to develop "a television and sports app for Android", which suggests that the Apple TV app could be coming to Android devices.
Although Apple has expanded the availability of the Apple TV app to third-party platforms such as Roku, Amazon Fire Stick, and Xbox, Android users who want to watch content from Apple TV+ have to contend with the web experience on tv.apple.com.
Rumours of the Apple TV app being developed for Android devices first surfaced in December 2022 when tipster @VNchocoTaco shared that the Apple TV app for Android was undergoing internal beta testing.
If Bloomberg's report is true, the Apple TV app will be the second content service to be available on a rival platform after Apple Music. It would give Android users access to Apple TV+ content, rent movies, and sports offerings such as MLS Season Pass.
