Apple's upcoming music streaming service is getting a lot of attention lately and Re/code joins the party with new information.

According to Re/code, industry sources claim that Apple is still negotiating deals with music labels for its streaming service. Part of the negotiations include a free trial period of one to three months. Apple has no intentions to make its streaming service free as it sees the business model as being unprofitable for the industry.

The Cupertino company is also exploring a feature that will allow artists and their record labels to upload samples of their songs for consumers to listen. This feature is being described by some of the industry sources as something similar to SoundCloud. Apple is also said to unveil a new version of its iTunes Radio with human-curated playlists.

Apple's recent moves to negotiate deals with music labels have caught the attention of FTC officials who are now examining its business practices if they are deliberately carried out to put competitors at a disadvantage. Its music streaming service is expected to be announced at next month's WWDC 2015 although it could possibly be pushed back due to the lack of necessary licensing deals.
