Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says Apple will not be able to get Apple Intelligence ready in time for the launch of iOS 18.
According to Gurman, Apple plans to roll out Apple Intelligence to the public sometime in October. This would mean a couple of weeks after the launch of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, which should all be available soon after Apple announces its iPhone 16 series of phones – likely sometime in early September.
The report says the reason for this delay is that Apple is concerned about the stability of Apple Intelligence and wants developers to have sufficient testing time.
Apple Intelligence will reportedly be made available to developers for the first time sometime next week with the first developer betas of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1.
This news isn’t entirely surprising given that Apple did say that Apple Intelligence will be available to users “in beta” this fall when iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia launch.
Furthermore, the company never specified which features would be available at launch. A recent report said that more advanced features like the revamp of Siri, personal context, and onscreen awareness will likely only be available sometime next year.
