Upcoming Street Fighter styled game makes famous scientists battle it out

If you ever wished for Isaac Newton knocking the lights out of Stephen Hawking, this game is a dream come true. Currently a work-in-progress, Science Combat re-imagines famous scientists with their own special moves based off their life's work.

Mankind likes to remember its greatest contributors as nobles who put up a good fight. That’s why there’s Science Combat. This 16-bit fighting “newsgame” by Superinteressante Magazine is a tribute to the luminaries of science in the best way possible – the makers of the game pit famous scientists against each other, Street Fighter style, complete with special moves that honor their contributions to our current knowledge of how the world works.

While this game itself is still work-in-progress, you can see the artist’s work on his website. Here, we feature some of the cooler special moves – for science.
