Xbox Live for Windows 8

Xbox Live functionality will be making its way on to Windows 8 and Microsoft intends to reveal more about the move soon to app developers interested in getting a foot in the door early.

Xbox Live has already been integrated into the Windows Phone 7 OS and now Microsoft has confirmed that the same service will be available for the upcoming PC operating system Windows 8. Titled Xbox Live on Windows, the service will be bringing most of the functionality experienced by the console users, such as gaming, musc, TV and movies, over to desktops.

The move could also spell the end of the Games for Windows platform. On the whole the move should be welcomed by gaming fans as it means that you can now have a homogeneous profile across your console, mobile and PC for all your game titles. Hopefully the port is well implemented and after developers are given a peek, we can expect a new slew of PC games to entice and excite.
