What else is Google cooking up other than Glass?
While Google may have shelved their Google Glass devices earlier this year, nobody really believed that it would be the end of the product. It seems like that might be true after all, though maybe not in the way you might expect.
Could there be more Glass in our future?
When Google decided to take their Glass back to the drawing board, Google refused to admit defeat. The company said that Google Glass was only going away for awhile, ready to come back when the time is right. It might not be the right time yet, but from a look at the postings on Google's job vacancies page, that time is rapidly approaching.
Google's recently posted a few job openings on their applications page. While the openings are fairly tame, with titles like Audio Hardware Manager and Human Factors Designer, what's interesting is what is posted at the very end of the job ad.
The Google Glass division is a world-class team focused on the cutting edge of hardware, software and industrial design. It is charged with pioneering, developing, building and launching smart eyewear and other related products in line with Google’s ambitious and visionary objectives
Google Glass is obviously the smart eyewear part but what about the 'other related products' part? Is Google actually planning on expanding from just a single smart product to a whole range of them, all under the purview of the Glass brand? The answers might not come for awhile yet, but it's interesting to note that not only will the Google Glass be coming back, it might not be coming back with friends.
