Unveiling of New Xbox to Take Place on May 21st

Lawrence Hryb, the Director of Programming for the Microsoft gaming network Xbox Live, has confirmed that the new Xbox will be unveiled on May 21st, with a showcase of the full lineup of games taking place later at E3.

Earlier this month, we wrote that we could see the new Xbox in late May. Now, we we have confirmation from Lawrence Hryb, otherwise more commonly known by his Xbox Live gamertag Major Nelson, that Microsoft will indeed reveal their new console on May 21st.

The event will take place at Microsoft's Xbox campus in Redmond, Washington and according to Microsoft, the console will "mark the beginning of a new generation of games, TV, and entertainment".

This will be a preliminary unveiling with Microsoft promising a full unveil along with the lineup of games later at E3. This is certainly exciting news for all gamers. For us, we are hoping that earlier rumors of the new console requiring "always-on" Internet connection will be untrue.
