Microsoft expects Windows 8 to be a game changer, so much so that almost every other service they provide is being geared to fit in with the new operating system. Their email service just got rehashed as Outlook and pretty soon SkyDrive will also be getting an overhaul to bring it more in line with the "Modern UI".

Besides the cosmetic changes, which are shown in the screenshot above, SkyDrive also has a few new features that improve the functionality of the service. First and foremost, SkyDrive is now searchable to the extent that it can scan through text in Word documents. It also now provides drag and drop for moving files around along with better sorting.

The apps for SkyDrive will also be getting updated in the coming weeks to offer faster, smoother usability.
