Minecraft creator has US$2.5 billion in his pockets, but is also wildly unhappy
Markus "Notch" Persson, the creator of Minecraft, might be wildly rich, but in a series of personal tweets, it would also seem that he isn't all that happy with his wealth.

You would imagine that having US$2.5 billion would make you very, very happy. With that amount of money, you could spend US$100,000 every day for the next 68 years and still have US$18 million as leftover. This is how wealthy Minecraft creator, Markus "Notch" Persson, is after having announced a deal that saw Microsoft cough up US$2.5 billion to purchase his company Mojang, who developed the game Minecraft.
However, despite all of his wealth, it would seem that Persson is unhappy. In a series of tweets, he lamented how he was being seen as a sellout and how his immense wealth kept a girl away from him.
He began his tweets by saying that "The problem with getting everything is you run out of reasons to keep trying, and human interaction becomes impossible due to imbalance."

It's pretty sad to see this and reminds us of Jacob from the movie Crazy, Stupid, Love who said, "I'm wildly unhappy, and I'm trying to buy it, and it's not working." It seems then that there's some truth to the saying that money can buy you anything but happiness.
On the other hand, it's also quite surprising to see this because Persson wasn't exactly broke to begin with. Mojang has been successful and in 2012 and 2013, Persson reportedly collected more than US$100 million per year in licensing fees for Minecraft.
