Ikea Singapore just issued a product recall due to fire hazard risk.

In a Facebook post, Ikea Singapore shared that customers who own the following Varmfront power bank(s) should immediately stop using it/them and contact the company for a full refund

  • Varmfront power bank 10,400mAh (model number E2038) with date stamp (YYWW) 2313, 2316, 2318 or 2319
  • Varmfront power bank 5,200mAh (model number E2037) with date stamp (YYWW) 2318, 2319 or 2322

Ikea Singapore added that these power banks may pose a fire hazard due to a manufacturing error. It emphasised that only power banks with the before-mentioned date stamps are affected by the manufacturing error.

Based on its sales data, a total of 36 affected units have been sold locally and no incidents have been reported thus far. Customers can check the printing on the back part of the power bank to confirm if their unit is affected.

If you are one of the 36 customers with the affected Varmfront power bank, contact Ikea Customer Contact Centre at +65 6786-6868 or head down to any Ikea store for a full refund. There is no need to produce any proof of purchase (e.g. receipt).
