IBM has shipped its new IBM Z mainframe of its factory, located in the city of Poughkeepsie, New York, United States. The mainframe is capable of capable of running more than 12 billion encrypted transactions per day.

IBM has shipped its new IBM Z mainframe from its factory, located in the city of Poughkeepsie, New York, United States. The mainframe is capable of capable of running more than 12 billion encrypted transactions per day. The mainframe aims to tackle the pressing issue of cyberattacks that target financial institutions, resulting in massive data leaks.

Besides tackling cyberattacks head-on, IBM aims to help financial institutions automate financial regulatory compliance, with in line with existing confidentiality and data protection laws. According to the company, the IBM z14 mainframe is the most powerful and secure system, making it suitable as a platform for “running the world's core systems for institutions around the world.”

The new system can support 12 billion encrypted transactions on a single day, and the IBM z14 enterprise mainframe is also designed to be connected to cloud services, “enabling massive transaction scale of high volume encrypted workloads at low cost.” For more information, do visit its product page here.
