Google Not Stepping in to Fix Maps in iOS 6
Users are definitely not happy with the performance of Maps in iOS 6, which Apple has stated they are in the process of improving. Unfortunately for them Google will not be lending a helping hand.

As was to be expected, the iPhone 5 was the most hotly anticipated gadget of the year. But as people have had some time with the new device they have found that it has some serious flaws, one of them being sub-par performance of Maps in iOS 6.
While initially it was assumed that Google would step in with a Google Maps app for iOS 6 and save the day, words from Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt seem to suggest otherwise. He categorically stated that there is no Google alternative to Apple Maps waiting in the wings although did not rule out the release of the Google Maps app in the future.
Unfortunately there seems to be no quick fix to the Map woes for users who have made the switch to iOS 6. However if you trawl the Apple App Store we are sure you might find some third party applications which can provide some reprieve.
