Epson develops the world's lightest GPS-enabled running monitor.

Designed to be worn on the wrist like a watch, the monitor utilizes GPS to provide runners with accurate distance, pace, and more. A commercial version of the monitor in Japan is expected to be released in 2012 as the company's first entry in the electronic sporting goods market.

The compact monitor is equipped with a long battery life, and is capable of operating for up to 12 hours on a full charge with GPS tracking on, making it ideal for long-distance events like full marathons. In addition, it is water-resistant to a depth of 50m, ensuring that the runner is still informed of running data in a downpour.
