ESET has opened its new Asia Pacific (APAC) Headquarters in Singapore with the facility set to serve as the region's epicentre for technical enablement, sales, marketing, threat response, and R&D efforts. The new office is equipped for hybrid work environments and fostering collaboration, learning, and training.
Equinix to offer fully managed service for NVIDIA DGX AI Supercomputing

Equinix has announced plans to offer a fully managed private cloud service that enables enterprises to buy and manage their own NVIDIA DGX AI supercomputing infrastructure for building and running custom generative AI models. Available immediately, the service includes NVIDIA DGX systems, NVIDIA networking and the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software platform. Equinix installs and operates each customer’s privately owned NVIDIA infrastructure and can deploy services on their behalf in key International Business Exchange (IBX) data centres globally.
Salesforce launches Startup Program in Singapore

Salesforce announced the launch of its Startup Program in Singapore with Digital Industry Singapore (DISG) as its inaugural partner. With the aim to help local startups innovate and accelerate growth, the program will be open to all Singapore-based startups in DISG’s. Participants will also have access to Salesforce’s dedicated investment arm, Salesforce Ventures, giving participants a pathway to potential investors.

The Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) announced the launch of the Advanced Manufacturing Training Academy (AMTA) to advance the skills development needs of the manufacturing sector. The AMTA Upskilling Guide will provide forward-thinking strategies for embracing sustainability, automation, and AI in the workforce.
Dell finds that 61% of IT decision-makers are not confident that their organisation can protect their data across public clouds
Dell’s “Global Data Protection Index (GDPI) Cyber Resiliency Multicloud Edition” report gave insights into the heightened threat of cyberattacks, the rise of generative AI and the ongoing expansion into multicloud environments. Concern over cyber threats remains at the top of the list for causes of organisational disruption, with 64% of respondents in Singapore reporting a cyberattack that prevented access to data within the past 12 months. 77% of organisations surveyed are worried that their existing data protection measures are unable to cope with ransomware threats. .64% are not very confident that they could reliably recover in the event of a destructive cyberattack.
E-commerce is at the cusp of mass adoption says Salesforce report
Salesforce’s 3rd edition of its State of Commerce report said that 8 in 10 e-commerce organisations in Singapore say they already use AI, with 42% having fully implemented it and 38% experimenting. An additional 20% are evaluating if and how AI can fit in their operations. The report also found that commerce functionality is being embedded into other pre- and post-purchase customer touchpoints. For example, 56% of organisations in Singapore have payment capture functionality in marketing emails, and 95% see incremental revenue from customer service channels.
Adoption of AI and automation paramount to fight surge in ransomware and phishing - Fortinet-IDC SecOps survey
Fortinet has just released findings from an IDC survey on the State of Security Operations (SecOps) in the Asia-Pacific region. The report, commissioned by Fortinet reveals that the most common cyber threats faced by Singaporean enterprises are phishing and ransomware, with a 60% surge in ransomware incidents in 2023. Remote work has led to an 82% increase in insider threat incidents, while only 44% of businesses have dedicated IT resources for security teams. The survey emphasizes the impact of emerging technologies, alert fatigue, and the need for skill development. On the positive side, 80% of organizations have adopted automation tools, experiencing significant productivity gains. The report underscores the urgency for organizations to strategically embrace automation and AI tools in the face of evolving cybersecurity challenges.
