Autonomous has just launched a Smart office desk that aims to change your life
Autonomous is a New York City startup that has just launched their first smart desk, The Autonomous Desk. A piece of furniture that combines ergonomics and artificial intelligence to change the way you work.
The Autonomous Desk is an office desk that senses your presence and automatically adjusts its height to accommodate working from a standing up position instead of a sitting down one. The desk comes with voice recognition capabilities so you can issue it commands. If synchronized with your mobile, the desk will read out your message for you, alert you when scheduled calendar events are coming up, and even place delivery orders for you.
It will sync with your fitness tracker to give you live read-outs of calories burnt, time spent walking and even interface with your smart home devices like the Nest home thermostat and LIFX lights so you can really get more done at your desk. USB charging ports and a smart charging mobile pad are included on the desk, and there’s a memory pad for you to store selected heights so the desk can shift to that level on command. It even has a built-in HD speaker to play music upon command!
The Autonomous Desk is currently being offered as part of a Kickstarter project with a minimum backing pledge of US$399 for the Basic Model (without AI features) and US$599 for the Smart Model (with AI; early bird special).
