Apple Seeks to Grow Presence in India

According to reports, Apple is looking to grow its presence in India by opening store-in-store outlets and over 100 standalone stores in smaller markets.

According to reports, Apple is looking to increase its presence in India. With a population of 1.2 billion, India is the second most populous country after China and represents a tremendous growth opportunity for Apple, who has yet to open an official Apple Store in India.

Reports indicate that Apple wants to enter "the top 50 tier II and tier III markets" in India and is also looking at opening 100 exclusive standalone stores in smaller markets. It is currently in talks with retail chains and potential franchising partners. No timeline was given, but Apple is expected to open these stores in this fiscal year.

In addition, Apple is said to have increased its team in India by at least threefold.
