Walking the middle ground is six-core AMD FX-6120 that has a rated clock speed of 3.5GHz with a Max Turbo speed of up to 4.1GHz. It features 14MB of cache which is 2MB more than its predecessor; AMD FX-6100, which is also a six-core FX series CPU. The last to the party is AMD FX-4150 that features four cores with a rated clock frequency of 3.9GHz and Max Turbo up to 4.1GHz. Its 12MB of cache is 4MB higher than its quad-core predecessors from the FX series.

With this launch of the new party of three, AMD is attempting to breathe new life into its FX series of Zambezi-based processors by tweaking with the clock speeds (both base and Max Turbo) as well as their memory caches. There are no pricing plans available for the new AMD CPUs but they should appeal to system builders who are not in the Intel camp.
