6 activities to look out for at IT Show 2017

IT Show 2017 will take place at Suntec Singapore (Level 3, 4, and 6) this week, from March 16 to 19. Shopping for tech gadgets aside (here's our deals preview article), as usual, there are many other activities to look our for at this first tech show of the year. So here’s a quick rundown:

1.) Trade-in of old gadgets

Have old and faulty gadgets you don’t need? Why not trade them in for cash vouchers to use at the tech show. This year’s trade-in booth is located at Level 6, Hall 603. Pro-tip: you can get your trade-in quote by filling up the form here. Items you can trade in this year include: laptops, tablets, smartphones, PCs, gaming consoles and software, monitors, 2G mobile phones, and e-mobility equipment.

Take note though, for gaming consoles and gaming software trade-ins, go to Level 6, Hall 601. For e-mobility items, go to booth 6651 at Level 6, Hall 601. For the latter, you can get rebates of up to S$300 for your next e-mobility vehicle purchase. Another pro-tip: get your e-mobility trade-in quote beforehand by filling in the form here.

2.) Tech Showcase

Even if you aren’t buying anything, you can drop by the Tech Showcase area (Level 4, behind Hall 401 and 402) to experience some of the latest IT gadgets.

Some of the gear that will be showcased there are: Creative’s X-Fi Sonic Carrier, Aztech’s Blink home security and HD video monitoring system, Lenovo’s Legion Y720 and Y520 gaming notebooks, and Thinkware’s F800 Air dashcam. Other new products from ASUS, Samsung, and more will be there as well.

3.) GameX

Want to experience the latest gaming consoles, gaming laptops, and featured games such as Alliance of Valiant Arms and Fifa Online 3? Then drop by the GameX pavilion at IT Show 2017.

You can also play King of The Hill and watch your prizes go each time you win! Or participate in a 5v5 gaming challenge on stage at Rumble with Audience where all contestants will stand to win a prize. Also happening is the long-awaited League of Legends Garena campus league challenge.

Other highlights include a Sony PlayStation Concept Zone, an ASUS ROG 4K Gaming Zone, an NVIDIA VR Zone, and more.

4.) Babes selfie contest

This needs no further introduction. You can stand a chance to win Casio cameras by snapping a selfie with any of the booth babes (with a creative pose, please) and share it on the Facebook page here.

5.) Free screen protectors

Buying a new phone or tablet at IT Show? Then remember to bring your receipt and device and drop by Level 4, Hall 403’s entrance to get a free screen protector. While stocks last, of course.

6.) Sure-win instant lucky dip

There’s a sure-win instant lucky dip booth at Level 4, Hall 405, where you stand a chance to win up to S$250,000 worth of prizes and vouchers. But you need to register for the contest first before heading down. You can find the instructions here.
