Look, it’s a phone, it’s a music player, it’s Samsung’s TV phone! First sighted at 3GSM in Spain, the Samsung F510 is an update over the F500 except that it has a DVB-H TV signal receiver. It sports the dual face LCD feature (with a 2.4” 262K color screen on one side), Sweep Touch UI, HSDPA and comes with a TV-out function. Definitely gives both the Samsung P910 and Nokia N92 a money-run – in DVB-H-supported countries at least. Other specifications include network support for HSDPA/EDGE and 900/1800/1900/2100MHz frequency bands. It sports a 2-megapixel camera, comes with a nifty Landscape View (self-standing swivel screen) and plays DivX on top of H.263, H.264,MPEG-4 and WMV formats. For music, it even plays AC3. In terms of video frame-rate, it supports QVGA at 30 fps (up to 544kbps) with a 410MB memory and microSD expansion. Measures 116.5 x 50.4 x 10.7mm.

The Samsung Ultra Smart F520 is one DUAL sliding phone you might really like. It supports HSDPA and EDGE with frequency band support for 900/1800/1900/2100MHz. With a 3-megapixel camera (with flash) and a huge 3” 480 x 272 display, it has a full touch screen dual slider and video format support for MPEG-4, H.263, H.264 and RealVideo. It also comes with Hot Launching Key (TV, Internet and Music). While it only supports Bluetooth and USB, it features a Flash user interface with a full HTML browser. Too bad memory is reliant only on microSD expansion. Measuring 104.8 x 53.7 x 17.4mm, the F520 is one Ultra Smart model that puts the smarts where it belong.

Samsung completes the Ultra Special series with the Ultra Smart F700, see here behind a glass case at CeBIT 2007. Supporting HSDPA 7.2 Mbps (wowzah!) and EDGE, it keeps company on the four frequencies namely 900/1800/1900 and 2100MHz. It has a spectacular 5-megapixel camera with Auto-Focus and a 2.78 440 x 240 display (slightly smaller than the F520). The phone also supports full touch screen features, including video format support for MPEG-4, H.263, H.264 and RealVideo. MP3-wise (and this goes for both the F520 and F700), it plays MP3s, AAC(+), eAAC+ and RealAudio. Like the F520, it has a QWERY keypad, supports Bluetooth and USB, and supports a Flash user interface and full HTML browsing. It is dimensionally smaller than the F520 of course, measuring 104 x 50 x 16.4mm. Unfortunately, it relies on the microSD format for memory storage.
