Ken’s top picks for the Tech Show 2022

For the next four days, the Tech Show 2022 will be held at Suntec Convention Centre. Here's some of the stuff I found interesting during my jaunt this afternoon.

The Tech Show has arrived in time to kick off the end-of-the-year shopping season.

Held at the Suntec Convention Centre, I visited it on the first day of its run until this Sunday. Like recent events, more than notebooks and desktops are on offer, with this edition showcasing things like drones, wearables, smart homes, smart TVs, gaming PCs, gaming gear, and even TikTok live streams.

Here are some of the things I found interesting at the Tech Show 2022.

Aftershock Ultracore Gaming Desktop

This fish tank gaming desktop from Aftershock is here to overwhelm your enemies with power! This model at the Tech Show comes powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X processor, a Gigabyte X670 Gaming X AX, 32GB OF DDR5 RAM, A 2TB SSD for storage, and a ZOTAC RTX 4090 AMP Extreme AIRO. Get this for S$5,750 (U.P.  S$6,288) from booth 8110.

Entropy

Lately, there have been several water filters making an appearance at these shows. But the Entropy is somewhat different. while the others use filters to remove impurities, this claims to make what you drink healthier by removing antioxidants. And it can do this to any beverage with water in it. Buy it at the show for S$4,800 (U.P. S$6,800) from booth 8640.

Geniebook

I have kids in primary school and when you’re a parent, grades are always a concern. But that is where Geniebook can help. Using AI, online worksheets, live online classes, and teacher chats, they cater for students in both primary and secondary school. Three subjects over the course of a year will cost S$4,278. Check them out at booth 8430.

Omnidesk

While we’ve usually heard of Omnidesk thanks to their great work desk solutions, they have now launched a range of ergonomic mesh chairs. Called the Embrace and Embrace Pro, the only difference between the two is that the Embrace Pro is an all-mesh design as opposed to the cushioned seat of the Embrace. Buy the Embrace and Embrace Pro for S$519 (U.P.  S$669) and S$549 (U.P.  S$699) respectively from booth 8210.

One Good Card

As companies increasingly drop physical name cards, One Good Card is your alternative. This smart name card can share your details with a tap or QR code scan. Data is kept all in the cloud so it will never get lost. Plus, you can hold and pass on information like social media pages and use it to highlight your personal brand. Prices depend on the physical card you choose to store information on and if any designs are involved. Check out this smart name card at booth 8451.

OSIM

Show your love of the World Cup and Pokémon with a massage chair and massage cushion from OSIM. The Pokémon massage cushion on the go is S$139 (U.P.  S$199) at the show. The World Cup edition of the uThrone V gaming massage chair is S$899 (U.P.  S$1,599). OSIM is also having their own spin and win with any purchase! Look for them at booth 8330.

Secretlab

By now we’re all familiar with Secretlab gaming chairs. However, the chairs have been prone to having their covers start peeling due to the humidity in Singapore. But the company has heard our complaints and come up with replaceable seat covers. Some are even have gaming or entertainment themes like the chairs. You can find covers with Game of Thrones, Batman, or League of Legends designs. They cost S$239 from booth 8130.

Singtel

Singtel is the only telco at the Tech Show 2022. So if you need a new smartphone, a data line, a SIM-only plan, or need a new fibre plan for the home, then drop by booth 8370 for help.

TCL

Mini-led TVs are all the rage now. check out what TCL is offering here at the Tech Show at booth 8301. TCL has brought their C935 model that was launched earlier this year. Available in two sizes, the 65-inch costs S$2,749 (U.P.  S$ 4,899) while the 75-inch is going for S$3,899 (U.P.  S$6,749).

I’ve always known TP-Link as a provider of networking solutions. But this Tech Show they are also showcasing their home cleaning robot, the Tapo RV 10 Plus at booth 8630. Check out how it will ease your chores for S$349 (U.P.  S$409).
