Located at Fraser's Tower, Singapore, the new Uber Asia Pacific hub takes up an entire floor, with an area of 2,000 square meters to house close to 200 local employees.
The office is located on the 34th floor of the office tower and it offers a sprawling view of the city center. The company has purposefully not allocated any corner offices so that the view can be shared with all.
Its general office workspace comprises mainly shared seating desks. Employees can opt for standing desks too!
There are also furnished discussion areas whose thematic decor is based on a particular city. Pictured above is the New Delhi, India discussion area. Check out the carpet and the homely sofa with seat pillows!
This is the Xiao Long Bao meeting room and the design idea was crowdsourced from Uber employees. The bamboo steamers add texture to the room and provide some acoustic dampening as well.
This is the Laksa meeting room; there's a mural that depicts this rich Peranakan soup noodle in its gastronomic glory; wait for the next photo though....
Paying tribute to one of the most popular national dishes, chicken rice, and this is the aptly-named Chicken Rice meeting room.
The popular breakfast dish of nasi lemak has been deconstructed in the Nasi Lemak meeting room.
The Kopi Tiam meeting room feature murals painted by an artist in residence, who was also a former Uber employee. She came back to the new office to showcase her artistic talents.
This is the other mural in the Kopi Tiam meeting room. What's not to like about traditional toast with Nanyang-style coffee?
There are lockers for employees to stow away their personal belongings. No drab-looking lockers here!
This mural is the work of a US-based artist, who is also another Uber artist in residence. The mural depicts cultural diversity and celebrates its differences; that's the core of Uber's revamped corporate culture.
