Sony VPL-E Series- Education and Business

Sony VPL-E Series - Education and Business

To create a clearer segmentation for its various series, Sony has adopted an easy to follow naming convention. Akin to the MX series, which would relate to Mobile, the E series is targeted at the Educational and Business users.

The basic VPL-EX7 model also utilizes the 3LCD projection system, and when we took a closer look at its projected image, the brightness was sufficiently powerful to even combat some sunlight glare. Likewise, short projection is not an issue with the EX7, where we were shown a full-sized 80-inch image from a 2.3-meter range. One of the shared features with the earlier MX20 mobile model, is the Off & Go feature. Sony's new range of projectors boasts a short start up time, and this translates to quick transition between locations (for example, shuffling from one boardroom to another). In fact, one of the messages that Sony brought across, is the immediacy of restarting the projector in less than 5 seconds should you switch it off by accident.

Pictured above is the higher-end sibling of the Sony VPL-EX7, the Sony VPL-EX70, equipped with a higher lumens rating at up to 2600 at XGA resolution (1024 x 768) projection.
