DOTA 2, Hearthstone, Tekken 7 and more will be contested at the 2019 SEA Games in Manila

Dota 2, Hearthstone, Tekken 7 and more will be contested at the 2019 SEA Games

The 2019 Southeast Asian Games recently began on November 30 in the Philippines, with some of the best athletes in the world competing in various medal events while representing their countries. 

This year is especially interesting, because for the first time ever - esports will be featured as a medal sport. These competitions will run from 5 to 10 December 2019, including some of the most popular games in esports - Dota 2, Hearthstone, Tekken 7, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and more. The games will take place at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan, Metro Manila.

Out of all the games contested here, we reckon DOTA 2 and Tekken 7 will be the most popular to watch - but Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Hearthstone followers will likely show up in droves to watch the games as well. 

20 esports athletes will be sent from Singapore to participate in the games, while 24 will be sent from Malaysia. More than 100 athletes will be involved from all nine participating countries - Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Laos.
