The new Samsung Galaxy Watch Active sports a new and cleaner aesthetic, ditching the familiar rotating bezel for two buttons at the side and a swiping interface. It's also thinner than our best smartwatch award winner and features a light aluminum chassis for greater comfort. You can get it at S$368 in silver, black, rose gold, or sea green.
The Galaxy Watch Active features a more compact 40mm watch face and a 1.1-inch 360 x 360-pixel AMOLED touchscreen. You'll also be able to replace the straps with any other 20mm strap that uses universal strap attachments.
Even though the rotating bezel has been removed, the watch face is still framed by relatively thick bezels. Samsung has also added some new health-centric watch faces, each of which encourage you to complete specific tasks or fitness goals each day, including things like calories burnt, exercise duration, or steps taken.
The smaller 40mm watch face is a lot less unwieldy than the larger Galaxy Watch LTE, which was available in 42mm and 46mm variants.
It is powered by an Exynos 9110 dual-core 1.15GHz chip, 768MB of RAM, and 4GB of storage.
