Two variants mark the current generation of Samsung's Android-based tablet, and the one shown here is the larger Galaxy Tab S7+ that rivals Apple's 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
Galaxy Tab S7+ has a 12.4-inch Super AMOLED display that has a slightly higher resolution than its 10-inch Tab 7 at 2,800 x 1,752 pixels resolution. More notable is this year's display supports a 120Hz refresh rate!
An important redesign goes to the S Pen, where the included stylus now has lower pen latency (9ms, down from the previous 96ms). This upgrade makes the stylus front-and-centre of the Galaxy Tab user experience for a more fluid and precise interaction.
Other device-wide enhancements include an improved App Pair feature within the quick-fire Edge Panel. App Pair can bind three apps (instead of just two) to trigger Multi-Active Window.
The Tab S7+ packs an in-display fingerprint sensor. This is unique to the larger variant, since the regular Tab S7 incorporates the fingerprint sensor within its power button.
Sold separately are the Galaxy Tab S7+ tablet covers - with and without the keyboard. Shown here is the Book Cover Keyboard and that too has evolved for the better. More on this on the next slide.
The keyboard on the cover now has expanded Function keys (F1 to F12). It also comes with a slightly wider trackpad to improve its usability. The way the Book Cover fastens to the tablet is also a marked improvement over its predecessor.
It attaches to the tablet using pogo pin connectors and its magnetic catch. Also built into the Book Cover Keyboard is a tiny little space to "hide" the S Pen.
With the increased need for teleconferencing and video-based conference calls, Samsung decided to move the 8MP front camera from the top of the device to the side, which becomes upright when placed on a desk.
Other popular features are also coming to the Tab S7 series, such as the tablet's quad-speaker setup, tuned by AKG with Dolby Atmos support.
