The Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro is Xiaomi's latest flagship smartphone. From the front it looks fairly ordinary, with a relatively large notch in the display and a fairly chunky bottom bezel.

But flip the phone over and you'll see its gorgeous and unique transparent glass rear. The glass panel lets you see the "components" inside the phone including its Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, Samsung 128GB UFS storage, and 3,000mAh battery. As it turns out, the visible components aren't actually real - they're a facsimile covering the actual components, but that doesn't take away from how cool it looks.

Here's a 'closer look' at the Snapdragon 845 processor and its neighboring components. Note that the real components are tucked away underneath, but you can't deny this superficial design adds an interesting visual appeal, unlike any other phone. You can also see some of the unique messaging Xiaomi has put on the components.

At the bottom of the phone you can see a nice quote taken directly from Xiaomi CEO and co-founder Lei Jun's letter to the public when Xiaomi filed its IPO documents back in May last year.

Both the red power button and the volume rocker can be found on the right side of the Mi 8 Pro.

On the bottom of the phone there's a downward firing speaker and a USB Type-C port. Sound only comes out of the right speaker, the left one is just for aesthetics.

On the back of the Mi 8 Pro you'll find a dual camera setup pairing a 12-megapixel, f/1.8, 1/2.55", 1.4µm lens with 4-axis OIS with a 12-megapixel f/2.4, 1/3.4" lens with 2x optical zoom.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro is available now from Xiaomi's official store on Lazada for S$799.
